Position description

The Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and student body. Our Division of Cardiology is seeking Pediatric Electrophysiologist(s) to join our team at Rady Children's Health-San Diego (RCHSD).

RCHSD is a 511-bed non-profit pediatric teaching facility that provides exceptional medical and surgical care to a broad population of over 5 million in a wide international catchment area including Baja California and the Pacific Rim.

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology consists of 33 faculty members across the full range of cardiac subspecialties. The Division and the Heart Institute have excelled in every aspect of their clinical, research, and teaching missions.

The successful candidate(s) will join a growing team of two mid-career EPs and wonderful support staff to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders from fetal life to young adulthood. EP procedures are performed in a state-of-the-art cath lab with a CARTO™ 3 mapping system and other advanced options, including a hybrid XMR lab and imminent plans for CMR-EP capabilities.

The selected candidate(s) will work with cardiology colleagues, cardiac surgery, and other subspecialties to deliver high-quality care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role also includes teaching trainees, with opportunities for research, quality improvement, and program development.

Candidates with interests in invasive EP, including catheter ablation and device implantation (e.g., pacemakers and ICDs), are encouraged to apply.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
