Position description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences (https://obgyn.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, student body. The department is recruiting biostatisticians to join its research faculty and support the research programs within its seven divisions.
In partnership with the Director of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Core, these positions will develop a sustainable departmental analytics program. In addition, the biostatistics research faculty will serve as a resource for other faculty and trainees in study design, power calculations, statistical analysis, grant and abstract, and manuscript preparation.
The selected candidates will develop an independent program of methodological research in their area of interest, while cultivating collaborations with researchers in the department. The selected candidates will be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing data from clinical trials, implementation science projects, and epidemiologic investigations. Additional duties include statistical design of studies, development of new statistical methodology, statistical analysis of results, mentoring and teaching trainees, and preparation of statistical and scientific reports and publications.
Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level and will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in biostatistics or a related field.
Candidates must have a current research program with at least one year of productivity in peer-reviewed publications.
Candidates must have extramural grant funding and at least one year of experience in obtaining funding.
Candidates must also have at least one year of experience in teaching and mentorship activities.
Candidates with a research program in a discipline relevant to reproductive health are preferred.
