Position description
The Division of Hematology & Oncology (https://hem-onc.ucsd.edu/) in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
The Division is actively recruiting clinicians and physician-scientists to build and expand our teams. These programs are located at Moore's Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center in the region. The center is multidisciplinary in nature and is one of the fastest-growing cancer programs
The selected candidates will help expand the robust programs by contributing to excellence in patient care, and/or research, participating in the educational activities of the Division, and teaching hematology and oncology fellows.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent.
Candidates must be Board certified or Board eligible in Medical Oncology.
Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
