Position description

The School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) at UC San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the fields of International Economics and closely related fields such as but not limited to international trade, international macroeconomics, and spatial economics. The school seeks an outstanding scholar doing empirical research on issues related to the global economy, including trade and trade policy, multinational firms, international macroeconomics, exchange rates, and immigration. Faculty are expected to produce original research and publish in highly ranked academic journals, to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to supervise and mentor graduate students, and to engage in select service activities

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must be ABD (all but dissertation) in Economics, Business, or Management with a concentration in Economics.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Must hold a PhD in Economics or related field by start date of appointment.

Preferred qualifications

We are particularly interested in scholars with expertise on issues related to the global economy, including trade and trade policy, multinational firms, international macroeconomics, exchange rates, and immigration.
