Position description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences (https://obgyn.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seeks to expand its Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery Program with the recruitment of physicians committed to excellence in clinical care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
The successful candidates will contribute to the department's clinical, educational, and research missions, provide services at various locations throughout San Diego County, and deliver surgical care at the UCSD Medical Centers in La Jolla and Hillcrest.
The selected candidates will leverage their scholarship and leadership skills to attract patients and drive practice growth. Additionally, the selected candidates will have the opportunity to refine their leadership abilities with guidance from nationally recognized faculty, explore innovative methods in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, and expand the clinical mission into neighboring communities.
Responsibilities will also include teaching students, training residents and fellows, mentoring resident and fellow research projects, and supporting junior faculty.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be Board certified or Board eligible in general Obstetrics & Gynecology. Candidates must also be eligible for a California medical license or an equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery by the start date of the appointment.
