Position description
The Department of History within the School of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
We are seeking applicants for temporary lecturer position(s) in the fields of Africa, Ancient Mediterranean, East Asia, Europe, Jewish Studies, Latin America, Middle East, United States, and History of Science.
Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Lecturers will work with the Director for Undergraduate Studies to discuss course content and develop syllabi as needed.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on published UC pay scales.
Appointments may be one or more quarters based on departmental need, and for one, two, or three courses per quarter.
Subsequent applications will be reviewed periodically as teaching needs arise.
Qualifications
Applicants must at ABD or have Ph.D in History or related History fields. ABDs will be considered.
Must have Ph.D by the time of start date.
