Position description
Qualcomm Institute (QI), at the University of California, San Diego, https://qi.ucsd.edu/ , is conducting an open search for an Academic Specialist (Associate or Full level) in various academic disciplines (Cybersecurity, Nanoengineering, Audiotechnology, Wireless Networks).
Specialists make significant and creative contributions to research projects and are assessed on their professional competence and activity, their University and public service, and the value and impact of their contributions to their area of research and their advancement of knowledge in the discipline as judged by other academics and scientists through a process of peer review.
Responsibilities include: Author/Co-author technical reports and publications. Collaborate with PIs, researchers and postdocs and graduate student researchers to develop proposals and bring in funding to support new and ongoing research projects. Identify and cultivate funding and collaborative opportunities that are mutually beneficial. Publish research related to research focus.
Appointment durations vary depending on the length of the research project and availability of funding
Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Engineering
Bioengineering, Materials Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering degrees are preferred.
