Position title: Pediatric Rheumatology
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $170.000 - $235,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Division of Allergy-Immunology-Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics (http://www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is seeking Pediatric Rheumatologists to join our team at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego (RCHSD).

Ranked in the Top 10 of the US News and World Report Best Children’s Hospitals, RCHSD is a prominent 511-bed pediatric care facility. It serves as a major regional tertiary care hospital dedicated to children and stands as the primary teaching facility for the Department of Pediatrics at UCSD School of Medicine.

This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the tradition of exemplary clinical care while further advancing clinical and translational research at UCSD and RCHSD. The successful candidates will be expected to support the mission of delivering high-quality care, engaging in impactful teaching, and actively participating in research projects and scholarly activities, while promoting an environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusivity among faculty, students, and staff. The successful candidates will also participate in the training of fellows, residents, and medical students.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or an MD/PhD in health-related fields.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates must also be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with a background in basic science or clinical research, as it adds an extra dimension to the department's dedication to advancing medical knowledge and enhancing patient care are highly preferred.
