Position description

The Department of Music at the University of California San Diego seeks an accomplished and innovative composer for a tenure-track Position at the rank of Assistant Professor expected to begin July 1, 2024.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate composition students and courses that more generally support our curriculum. These would include some combination of seminars for graduate students, classes for undergraduate music majors and classes that support the general education mission of the department.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Demonstrated track record of at least 6 months professional activity as composer or creative musician.

Preferred qualifications

Terminal degree in relevant field (PhD, DMA or MFA), university teaching experience, national artistic profile (as registered through awards, commissions, performances by leading ensembles or in prestigious venues).
