Position title: Associate, Full Professor
Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for the Associate Professor position is $122,900 - $147,000 and for the Full Professor position is $138,700 – $227,500. The posted UC Academic salary scales set the minimum pay as determined by rank and/or step at appointment. The base salary range, from the salary table(s), for the Associate Professor position is $92,500 - $116,600 and the base salary range for the Full Professor position is $108,300 - $197,100. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience. Position description

The newly-established Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics (A&A) within the School of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence, diversity, and inclusion within the faculty, staff and student body. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or related fields.
Record of scholarly impact and research productivity.
Record of teaching and advising students.
Evidence of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
