Position description

Faculty Position in Gastroenterology. The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/) at The University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Gastroenterology is actively recruiting a clinically-oriented academic gastroenterologist specializing in Motility.

The position will be primarily dedicated to conducting outstanding clinical gastroenterology patient care, in the field of motility. Areas of focus for this position may include the esophageal diseases, esophageal motility disorders, gastric and intestinal motility disorders and/or pelvic floor disorders.

Candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD and have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must board certified or be eligible in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Candidates must have experience in the areas of gastrointestinal motility disorders and pelvic floor disorders.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
