Position description

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Department of Pediatrics (http://www-pediatrics.ucsd.edu) and Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego (http://www.rchsd.org) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Allergy-Immunology-Rheumatology at the University of California, San Diego and Rady Children's Specialists of San Diego (a Medical Foundation) is seeking applicants for clinical pediatric allergists/immunologists.

The Pediatric Allergy/Immunology section is made up of a multidisciplinary team including 9 faculty physicians, 1 nurse practitioner, 6 clinical research coordinators, and several dedicated nurses. The team cares for a wide variety of patients from a large catchment area from Southern California, Western Arizona, and Northern Mexico and participates actively in national multicenter clinical trials. The Allergy Immunology Rheumatology divisions in both the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine at UCSD have a strong track record of translational research and provide a unique collaborative research environment.

This position is a unique opportunity to continue the tradition of strong clinical care and further develop clinical and translational research at Rady Children’s Hospital. The ideal candidates will be a physician with a strong interest or experience in an academic center.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be Board certified or eligible in Allergy and Immunology. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates with basic science or clinical research experience are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
