Position description

The Department of Physics within the Division of Physical Sciences at UCSD is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body, and invites applications from qualified individuals for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist for an open search. Pending budgetary approval, one or more non tenure-track position may become available for the 2019-2020 academic year.

A Ph.D. in physics or a related field with postdoctoral experience working in one of the research topics listed below is required.

The candidate is expected to be an excellent leader and team player with the ability to work independently and to have the ability to transfer knowledge to students and postdocs in the group. Areas of research may include but are not limited to: astrophysics, atomic/molecular/optical physics, biological physics, condensed matter, high energy physics, neurophysics, particle physics, and plasma physics. All positions are subject to availability of funding.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
