Position description

The Department of Literature at UC San Diego invites applicants to teach courses in Latin American Literature during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Ph.D. in Spanish by time of appointment and outstanding teaching experience are required. The full list of courses offered by the department can be found in the online course catalogue. Salary and level of appointment are based on qualifications and UC pay scale.

In Winter 2020, we need a Lecturer who can offer a course on Literature of the Southern Cone (LTSP 134). In Spring 2020 quarter, the Lecturer would teach a Contemporary Latin American literature course (LTSP 133) and a course on Latin American Literature and Society (LTSP 171), both open as to focus.

Proof of authorization to work in the U.S. will be required prior to and through the employment period (Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1985).

Candidate’s CV should demonstrate excellence of teaching experience in Spanish and provide evidence of research and publications in the field of Latin American literature.
