Position description

THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO, DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/pediatrics/) is seeking Project Scientists with a background in Biology, Genetics and/or Genomics to produce and/or analyze large-scale human genomic data sets.

Candidates will optimize iPSC differentiation protocols, sample preparation and sequencing OR perform genetic association studies on iPSC-derived tissues and human adult tissues with the goal of characterizing how genetic variation influences molecular phenotypes. In this role the candidate will handling and differentiating induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), preparing libraries for next-generation sequencing (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and 10X single cell technologies) OR analyzing sequencing data, including but not limited to whole genome sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and 10X single cell technologies.

Candidates must have obtained a PhD in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Medicine, Computational Biology or related disciplines.

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist as determined by the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
