Position description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego (https://pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are currently seeking General Pediatricians and/or Adolescent Medicine Physicians for our Division of Academic General Pediatrics, Child Development and Community Health.

This is an exciting time to join Pediatrics at UCSD, as there has been considerable growth in the department and development of our mission under the leadership of Dr. Gabriel G. Haddad. Resources in the Department of Pediatrics include a Clinical Research Program, and strong basic, clinical, translational and community-based research programs. Resources at the University of California, San Diego include the Joint UCSD/SDSU Doctoral Program in Public Health, the Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute, Rady School of Management, and the Global Health Initiative. Furthermore, San Diego offers the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including a border community and 18 Indian tribes/bands. The 100+ Community Health Centers in San Diego County offer strong collaborative opportunities for its Division members and colleagues.

Candidates must be MDs or MD/PHDs, have California medical license/eligibility, and board certification/eligibility.

The preferred candidate will be an academic physician with substantial background and expertise in General Pediatrics or Adolescent Medicine. The candidate will have strong clinical skills and an interest in medical student/resident education.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
