The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, at UC San Diego ( is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body.

We seek faculty applicants to join a highly interdisciplinary, programmatic effort within the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center dedicated to advancing the detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer and other cancers. Faculty are sought to conduct strongly interdisciplinary research with cancer science and medicine. A willingness to participate in university service, graduate and undergraduate teaching is plus.

Candidates must have an MD or PhD in Biological Sciences, Molecular Pathology, Molecular Biology or similar area. Candidates must have innovative approaches and expertise in one or more disciplines. Candidates with an MD must be board certified/board eligible and the ability to obtain a California Medical License.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
