ACADEMIC HOSPITALISTS AND NOCTURNISTS - The Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of California, San Diego (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting full or part time Academic Nocturnists and Hospitalists to join our diverse and dynamic group of 50 physicians.

Hospitalists participate in teaching, quality improvement and faculty development.

We are seeking physicians trained in Internal Medicine committed to delivering excellent patient care, often integrated with regular medical student and resident educational opportunities, and participation in meaningful quality improvement efforts. Faculty development in most of these areas is available.

Candidates must have an MD and be Board Certified/Board Eligible. Candidates must be eligible for a California Medical License and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Hospital medicine experience is desirable but not mandatory. Research, informatics, statistics, and performance improvement skills will be considered favorably but are not required.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
