The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery (https://healthsciences.ucsd.edu/som/surgery/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and and seek to recruit an experienced abdominal transplant surgeon to serve as to serve as a full-time faculty member.
The successful candidate will be nationally recognized for clinical outcomes broadly in abdominal transplantation including liver, kidney, and pancreas as well as for their contributions to moving their field forward. The successful candidate will embrace these values as well and demonstrate an ability to navigate the inherent multidisciplinary landscape in a collaborative manner.
Expertise in living kidney donation and in pediatric abdominal transplantation is preferred.
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
1) MD and Board certification in General Surgery
2) successful completion of an ASTS accredited fellowship in abdominal transplantation
3) a commitment to research and education
4) Must possess or successfully secure a California medical license
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
