Position description

The Moores Cancer Center (https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/cancer) a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a Assistant Project Scientist.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience in protein chemistry and therapeutics including the construction of protein expression vectors, the production of recombinant proteins in bacteria and mammalian cells, and the purification of proteins by chromatographic and related techniques. The successful candidate must have: 1) an MD, a PhD in chemistry, cell, molecular biology, or equivalent degree; 2) training in biochemistry, cell or molecular biology relevant to cancer biology; 3) experience with protein chemistry and protein therapeutics; 4) evidence of a high level of scientific productivity as documented by publications; and 5) prior post-doctoral or professional experience.

Appointment will be at Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist level based on background and years of experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
