The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery ( is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seek to recruit a fellowship trained laryngologist at the Assistant or Associate or Full Professor level.

Clinical activity will include time at both the VA and University. The successful applicant will be hired to complement a robust multi-specialty tertiary laryngology practice.

The ideal candidate(s) must have demonstrated excellence in clinical care of patients, as well as an excellent track record of publication. Additionally Associate or Full Professors will show evidence of leadership and national and institutional recognition.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

1) MD and Board certification or Board eligibility in Otolaryngology
2) Successful completion of laryngology fellowship at the time of hiring
3) Must have or be able to obtain a California medical license
4) Commitment to research and education

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
