Faculty Position. The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Nephrology-Hypertension is recruiting an academic transplant nephrologist for a faculty position.
Candidates with experience with novel immunosuppressive protocol development, and implementation and in clinical and translational investigation are specifically encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board certified/board eligible in Nephrology, completion of a transplant fellowship training year at a center with UNOS recognized transplant accreditation is requried. Most hold or be eligible for California medical licensure. The successful candidate must have a track record in successful team management and leadership skills. Additionally Associate or Full Professors will show evidence of leadership and national and institutional recognition.
Experience in donor selection and evaluation procedures, in clinical practice, and in development of national and/or international policies and guidelines, is preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
