Position description

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Division of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego is playing a key role in a campus-wide effort to build a preeminent program in quantitative biological sciences (research and teaching). To anchor this effort, the department invites applications for a tenured Full Professorship in Chemistry and Biochemistry, with a preferred focus on theoretical / computational biophysics, at the interface with experiment. The successful candidate will hold the Francis Crick Endowed Chair and will help lead the development of a world-class program in molecular and cellular biophysics and quantitative biology. This may include collaborations with other departments such as Mathematics, Physics, and the Biological Sciences, as well as the San Diego Supercomputing Center.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in one of the quantitative physical sciences and a recognized program of excellence in both research and teaching in molecular biophysics.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scale.
