Faculty Position. The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body, and is actively recruiting for a Clinical Service Chief for the Division of General Internal Medicine.

We seek a physician who will serve as the leader of operational clinical care. In concert with the Division Chief, the Clinical Service Chief will be responsible for the coordination of clinical resources to ensure adequate physician availability, coordination of schedules for coverage, quality of care, and clinical budgets. The Division includes a wide range of clinical programs located throughout San Diego County, and basic and clinical research programs.

Candidates must be an MD and be currently certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or possess equivalent credentials, and must be eligible for a California medical license.

Applicants with leadership experience and excellent track records in clinical management and physician mentoring are encouraged to apply.

Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank. Series will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
