The successful candidate will be expected to lead a vigorous research program in Human Genetics and Epigenetics, and to commit up to 20% time to the clinical and teaching mission of the Department and Rady Children’s Hospital. In addition, this individual will have opportunities to play a significant leadership role in strengthening Genetics and Genomics in our Medical School as a whole, including the mentoring and recruitment of junior faculty members. Space will be provided within the UCSD Health Sciences campus.
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree and be well trained in Human Genetics with a demonstrated track record of outstanding peer-reviewed research. Candidates must demonstrate leadership experience or demonstrate potential as a leader in the field and the Division.
Preferred candidates will have an MD or MD/PhD, be well trained in Epigenetics, and have existing and substantial funding.
Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor Rank based on candidate's experience and qualifications. Series will include 100% Ladder Rank or 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding with partial to full State funding potentially offered. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales.
