Position description

Faculty Position in Geriatrics. The Division of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively recruiting an MD and/or PhD to conduct aging research.

Multiple opportunities for collaborative research will be available. The division wishes to increase the number of faculty who conduct research in a broad array of aging-focused topic areas. Additional faculty will enable us to be more competitive for grants such as a T32 training grant to enhance the pipeline of those entering careers in aging research and a P30, Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center grant to enhance our ability to fund research projects focused on aging and training for faculty in aging research.

Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD and ability to make original and significant contributions to a research program.

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. Series will be determined by the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications and funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
