Position description

The Department of Surgery within the School of Medicine at UC, San Diego ( healthsciences.ucsd.edu/som/surgery/divisions/pediatric/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The Department is seeking a faculty member or members in the Division of Pediatric Surgery.

The position will service the affiliated Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego. The position will include patient care, teaching and research. This candidate will likely have a leadership role as the Trauma Medical Director at Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

1.Candidates must have an MD
2.Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Surgery.
3.Completion of ACGME fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
4.Commitment to excellence in Clinical care, Research and Education.
5.Must have or be able to obtain a California Medical License.

The applicants should be fellowship trained in Pediatric Surgery. Individuals with previous experience as a Trauma Director, Associate Trauma Director or in Critical Care are encouraged to apply.

Level of appointment including rank and series will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
