Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD. We are recruiting a candidate with strong expertise in exercise physiology, skeletal muscle physiology, intracellular calcium measurements, and nitric oxide biochemistry. Strong expertise in biochemistry of enzymes, nitric oxide, nitric oxide donors, S-nitrosothiols and post-translational modifications in proteins is also required.
Preferentially, the candidate should have expertise in working with intact whole muscle contractility, isolating single muscle fibers from mice to test contractility and fatigability, and measuring intracellular calcium transients and free radical production in live cells under different oxygen tensions.
Appointment will be at Assistant Research Scientist level. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
