Position description

The Division of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery (http://ctsurgery.ucsd.edu) in the Department of Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiothoracic. Candidates must be eligible to practice medicine in California and a special interest and expertise in congenital heart surgery, pediatric heart failure, pediatric cardiac assist devices, and pediatric cardiac transplantation. Candidate must have a strong track record of clinical as well as scientific work in the field of pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, must be committed to an academic career, must have completed formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. Series will determined by the successful candidate’s skills and qualifications.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
