Position description

The Division of Medical Physics and Technology in the Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences at UC San Diego (http://radonc.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking multiple Assistant or Associate medical physicists to join a growing team of faculty medical physicists. The successful candidates may reside at either the main facility or one of the satellites depending on qualifications and interest.

Currently, our team consists of 16 physicians, 14 physicists, 12 dosimetrists, and 3 IT specialists managing 8 linacs across 4 sites.

Candidates must have a PhD and board eligible/certified by the American Board of Radiology in Medical Physics. Candidate must have skills for day-to-day clinical support but candidates must also have a demonstrated publication and teaching record. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.

While the ability to obtain extramural funding is not required; candidates with research experience are encouraged to apply.

Appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, in the Clinical series. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Review of applications will begin on August 24, 2016 and continue until the position is filled.
