Position description

The Moores Cancer Center (http://cancer.ucsd.edu/) and the UC San Diego School of Medicine (http://som.ucsd.edu/) in La Jolla are seeking an exceptional physician with a specialized focus and experience in neuro-oncology to serve on the Neurosciences Department faculty. The ideal candidate is a neurologist with sub-specialty training in neuro-oncology . UC San Diego has a strong history of commitment to innovation in neuro-oncology research and clinical care, creating excellent interfaces for collaboration and interdisciplinary program development with colleagues in Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, Oncology and basic science collaborators.

We seek candidates who might contribute to or lead our established neuro-oncology program, including its strong, ongoing commitment to research. The Moores Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with demonstrated excellence in research, treatment, education, and prevention. We are the only such NCI-designated cancer center in San Diego, and provide clinical care for patients throughout Southern California.

Candidates must have a MD and be expected to participate in the education of medical students, residents, and clinical fellows. Completion of an approved fellowship in neuro-oncology is required. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity by submitting a Diversity Statement of past contributions and/or future plans of excellence in this area as part of their application for an academic appointment.

Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank and 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
