Position description

The Department of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is seeking a board certified Ob/Gyn Generalist at the level of Associate Professor or Professor to lead the Ob/Gyn Division. The Division is comprised of generalists and specialists in minimally invasive surgery and family planning. It is highly involved in resident and medical student education in the Department, School of Medicine and UCSD Health System.

Members of the Division provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to women working with allied health professionals across two ambulatory practice sites. Specialty care includes uterine fibroids, sexual health, pelvic pain, vulvar abnormalities, family planning, preconception counseling, and cervical dysplasia. Inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures are performed at the La Jolla and Hillcrest locations, and in 2016 include the new Jacobs Medical Center.

The Division’s Research interests are in uterine fibroids, family planning, diabetes, and other women’s health issues.

Candidates must be an MD or PhD or MD/PhD and be board certified in Ob/Gyn at the Associate Professor/Professor level and possess a valid California Medical license. Candidates must have five years of leadership experience either at the division level or major program area as well as a minimum of ten years academic medical center experience. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated capability, leadership, and experience in providing evidence-based and patient-centered Ob/Gyn care and in collaborating and coordinating care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to excellence in clinical care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction, education of learners and research.

Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Clinical Professor level.
Series will be determined based on skills and qualifications. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Review of applications will begin on December 18, 2015 and continue until the position is filled.
