Position description

Psychologist, VASDHS Outpatient Mental Health

The Department of Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (http://psychiatry.ucsd.edu) and the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) Mental Health Care Line are recruiting for an academic clinical psychologist. The appointee will serve primarily as a Staff Psychologist in Outpatient Mental Health at the VASDHS. The appointee may have the opportunity to work in the Mood Disorders Clinic or specialize in Sleep Disorders, if appropriate. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology program, must have completed an APA-accredited internship in psychology, and be eligible for licensure in California. In addition, ideal applicants should have established a track record of high quality, independent, programmatic research related to mood or sleep disorders, be able to supervise trainees, and hold a full, current, unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Academic rank and salary will be dependent upon qualifications and based on published UC pay scales. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on VASDHS and University of California pay scales.
