Position description

Faculty Position in Plastic Surgery. The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery (http://surgery.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and invites applications for a full time faculty position for a plastic surgeon. We are looking for an individual with diverse training and experience in Plastic Surgery wishing to pursue an academic career and motivated to excel in clinical service, research and plastic surgery education. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in all aspects of reconstructive surgery, with expertise in advanced microsurgery, including microlymphatic surgery for postmastectomy lymphedema, limb salvage procedures, head and neck reconstruction, problem wound management, experience in endoscopic reconstructive surgery and to those available for pediatric liver transplant procedures. Clinical service opportunities will include UC San Diego Hospitals, La Jolla VA Medical Center and Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

1) Board certification or eligibility in Plastic Surgery.
2) Commitment to research and education.
3) Must have or be able to obtain a California medical license.

Rank and series will be determined based on candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales.
