Position description

THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY within the Division of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego (http://chemistry.ucsd.edu/) invites applications for the Dean’s Excellence search, which includes tenure-track faculty positions in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Experimentalist or theorists in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry, especially those with a strong interdisciplinary focus that align with the strategic areas of Environmental Chemistry, Energy and Material Sciences, Chemical Biology, or Biochemical/Biophysical Sciences are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with a substantial record of research accomplishment as well as an innovative research and teaching plan. The successful candidate will be expected to teach chemistry and/or biochemistry courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Preferred candidates will have the potential for leadership in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion and will have a strong desire to play a future role in helping to shape and expand the University’s diversity initiatives (http://diversity.ucsd.edu/ and http://academicaffairs.ucsd.edu/faculty/diversity-opportunities/index.html). We especially welcome candidates who have experience with and wish to contribute to programs that increase the access and success of underrepresented students and faculty in mathematics/the sciences.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scale.
