Position description

The Division of Biological Sciences (www.biology.ucsd.edu), Section of Cell and Developmental Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position with a research emphasis on molecular and cellular mechanisms of host-microbe interactions. Candidates using any model animal host and microbe to study pathogenic or symbiotic interactions are encouraged to apply. We also welcome applications from candidates working in innate immunity and related fields that are using high-resolution imaging, high-throughput screening, genome-scale bioinformatics, or other innovative approaches. All candidates must have earned a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, and be committed to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence and creativity in research, scholarship, and a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education. We are especially interested in candidates who have created or contributed to programs that aim to increase access and success of underrepresented students and/or faculty in the sciences, and/or have detailed plans to accomplish such goals.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
