Position description

The Division of Biological Sciences (www.biology.ucsd.edu), Section of Neurobiology invites applications for a tenured position, particularly at the level of Full Professor, with a strong research emphasis on the development of behavioral circuitry. Candidates at the Associate level will also be considered. Candidates using any experimental animal are welcome to apply. This highly interactive group is looking for colleagues who will bring novel approaches, either technical or conceptual, to their study of brain function. Although not a requirement, candidates who can establish strong ties to the new Center for Brain Activity Mapping initiative at UCSD will be given particular attention.

All candidates must have earned a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, and be committed to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence and creativity in research, scholarship, and a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education. We are especially interested in candidates who have created or contributed to programs that aim to increase access and success of underrepresented students and/or faculty in the sciences, and/or have detailed plans to accomplish such goals.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
