Position description

General Nephrology - The Division of Nephrology-Hypertension in the Department of Medicine (http//med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division is actively recruiting a clinically oriented academic nephrologist for a faculty position. Rank and series will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and salary will be based on published UCSD salary scales. The candidate must be board certified/board eligible in Nephrology and a California medical licensure/eligibility is required.

The selected candidate will assist in managing the outpatient dialysis program. The position will (1) provide continuity of care for maintenance dialysis patients, (2) provide general nephrology clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, (3) conduct and participate in clinically oriented research in kidney disease, and (4) participate in the educational and research missions of the University, Department, and Division. Candidates should have experience in nephrology consultation, critical care nephrology including CRRT, plasmapheresis, invasive procedures, end-stage renal disease care, and should have experience and a publication track record in clinically oriented research.
