Position description

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE, http://maeweb.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California, San Diego invites applications from candidates performing innovative research in the area of Fluid Mechanics. We are particularly interested in novel computational and theoretical approaches to multiscale, multiphysics problems involving one or more of the following areas: biomechanics, flow-structure interaction, microfluidics, multiphase flows, reacting flows, and turbulence. Excellent candidates in other areas of fluid mechanics will also be given full consideration. Candidates will have opportunities associated with the Jacobs School thrusts in energy, environment and engineering in medicine. The successful candidate will build a significant research program that adds to the multifaceted research at MAE and show strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
