Position title: Unit 18 Temporary LecturerPosition description
THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY within the School of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego seeks to establish a pool of outstanding instructors for undergraduate courses in all areas of chemistry with particular interest in biochemistry laboratory instruction.
Responsibilities entail the effective instruction of students, teaching classes in accordance with course objectives and published schedules, advising students on academic matters and maintaining an active interest in the advances/current thinking in their subject area.

Qualifications
Applicants must have or be a candidate for a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field. Experience in both biochemistry lecture and laboratory-based settings
Ph.D. must be awarded prior to the start of the teaching quarter in order for an offer of employment to be made.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in teaching at the undergraduate level in the area of biochemistry. Additionally, applicants must have prior research experience , two supportive letters of references, strong record of mentorship, teaching experience in both lecture and laboratory-based settings, and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are highly desirable .

Statement of Teaching - 1-page teaching statement.
