Position description
The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within its faculty, staff, and student body, and is actively recruiting Clinical Infectious Disease physicians and physician-scientists.
The successful physician-scientist candidate is expected to develop a strong individual research program and contribute to the research portfolio of the Division. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students, residents, and fellows.
The selected clinical candidate will work in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students, residents, and Infectious Disease fellows. In addition, the faculty member will be an integral part of building the Infectious Diseases & Global Public Health Division at UCSD.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Qualifications
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or a PhD (or equivalent) in the area of Infectious Diseases or a related field.
Candidates with an MD or equivalent must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates with an MD or equivalent must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Infectious Disease.
