Position description
The Critical Gender Studies Program at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body, and invites applicants whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment.
Responsibilities entail effective instruction of students, teaching classes in accordance with course objectives and published schedules, advising student on academic matters and maintaining and active interest in the advances/current thinking in their subject area.

The position is in-person and classes will be held on the UC San Diego Campus.
Appointments will be part-time, though possibly full-time, from one quarter up to one year in duration, and with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree, or 3 years professional experience. ABDs will be considered.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship.
Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree, or 3 years professional experience in a variety of fields including, but not limited to: Women’s Studies, Feminist Studies, LGBTQ Studies, Gender Studies, Queer Studies, Ethnic Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, English, and Arts & Humanities.
Preferred requirements also include strong demonstrated accomplishments or potential in areas contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a desire to play a role in advancing UC San Diego’s commitment to achieving excellence and diversity.
