Position overview

Position title: Lecturer

Position description

The Analytical Program is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and has occasional openings for temporary non-tenure track lecturers.

The Analytical Writing Program serves students enrolled at UC San Diego who have not completed the UC Entry Level Writing Requirement, or ELWR. The curriculum is intricately designed and carefully scaffolded with the aim of developing the critical reading, thinking, and writing skills of our underprepared students. Our courses are not remedial; rather, they are intellectually challenging, providing students a supportive learning environment in which they can engage in university-level work. For more information about our program, see http://awp.ucsd.edu. Duties include teaching, attending orientation and professional development, and assessing student writing portfolios each quarter.

Appointments may be one or more quarters based on departmental need. The 9-month salary and level of appointment are based on qualifications and UC pay scales.

Subsequent applications will be reviewed periodically as teaching needs arise.
