Position description
The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Department of Pediatrics (http://www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) and Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego (http://www.rchsd.org) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Allergy-Immunology-Rheumatology at the University of California, San Diego, and Rady Children's Specialists of San Diego (a Medical Foundation) are seeking clinical rheumatologists and clinical or basic science physicians and researchers.
This position is a unique opportunity to continue the tradition of strong clinical care and further develop clinical and translational research at Rady Children’s Hospital. The successful candidates will be expected to support the mission of delivering high-quality care, teaching, and scholarly activities, while promoting an environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusivity among faculty, students, and staff. The successful candidates will also participate in the training of fellows, residents, and medical students.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent degree and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must also be Board certified or eligible in
Pediatric Rheumatology.
Candidates with basic science or clinical research experience are highly preferred.
Candidates with strong clinical skills, educational skills, and experience or a strong interest in an academic career are also preferred.
