The Department of Music at the University of California San Diego seeks an accomplished and innovative composer to be appointed with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor beginning July 1, 2023.
Candidates should demonstrate the highest standards of creative practice. The successful applicant will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate composition students and courses that more generally support our curriculum. They should also demonstrate the potential for leadership at UCSD and a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education.
The Department of Music at UC San Diego (UCSD) offers B.A, M.A., Ph.D., and D.M.A. degrees , and maintains state-of-the-art performing, recording and research facilities.
Demonstrated track record of at least 6 months professional activity as composer or creative musician.
Terminal degree in relevant field (PhD, DMA or MFA), university teaching experience, international artistic profile.
