Position description
The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/surgery/divisions/plastic-surgery/Pages/default.aspx is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seek to recruit academic plastic surgeons with interest in complex reconstructive plastic surgery.
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for providing high quality training and teaching to medical students, residents and fellows and participate in clinical care of patients and/or basic research.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Candidate must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified or eligible in Plastic Surgery.
Candidates must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates must also have an excellent track record of publication.
Candidates must have completed fellowship training in hand surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, aesthetic surgery, transgender surgery, or an equivalent fellowship training program, at the time of appointment.
