Position description

The Department of Pathology (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine UCSD is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks a basic Research Scientist with expertise in investigating the role of stem-like tumor cells in breast cancer progression and metastasis and the potential that their signaling pathways may serve as prognostic markers and/or therapeutic targets to prevent metastasis.

Appointment will be at Assistant, Associate or Full Research Scientist level based on background and years of experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD/PhD or PhD in health related fields. Candidates must also have a track record of first and/or senior-authored research publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with current extramural funding to support their salary and research are preferred.
