Position description

Faculty Position in Gastroenterology. The Department of Medicine at University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting faculty with an interest in academia in the Division of Gastroenterology.

Clinical and teaching responsibilities will include general gastroenterology.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. In-Residence appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD with an emphasis relevant to Gastroenterology. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California and must be board certified or eligible in Gastroenterology.

Candidate must have completed GI fellowship training in good standing (ie. no probation). Candidate must also have competency in GI procedures (ie. EGD, colonoscopy, push enteroscopy, and PEG tube placement) along with moderate sedation.
