Position description

The Division of Hematology/Oncology (http://med.ucsd.edu) in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division is actively recruiting clinicians to build and expand our Experimental Therapeutics Team, with focused interests in early therapeutics as well as novel targeted and immunotherapy approach.

The Experimental Therapeutics Program is located in the Moores Cancer Center, the only NCI designated cancer center in the region. It is multidisciplinary in nature and is one of the most rapidly growing cancer programs at UC San Diego.

Selected candidate(s) will continue to help expand this robust program, with a commitment to excellence in patient care and participation in the educational activities of the Division.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Medical Oncology. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred qualifications

A track record of successful translational research leadership is preferred.
