The Department of Pediatrics is currently in an exciting period of growth and expansion across our varied divisions and centers of excellence. As part of our ongoing pursuit of clinical innovation and scientific discovery, we are seeking applications from candidates at the Assistant Professor rank.
The successful candidate for this position will be a scientist, physician-investigator or physician scientist, with wide experience in healthcare, research, and education. The successful candidate will also a strong interest in pursuing basic, translational, or clinical research programs pertaining to the field of Cardiology, Genetics, Hem/Onc, Nephrology, Neonatology, Allergy-Immunology & Rheumatology, Environmental Health or Health Disparities. All subspecialties that have relevance to child health will be considered.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Candidates must possess a PhD, MD or MD/PhD or equivalent in a relevant field of Pediatrics. Candidates with an MD must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California and must be board certified/eligible as appropriate.
Candidates must also have a track record of research excellence manifested by grants and publications. In addition to the highest standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, candidates must have demonstrated contributions towards the development of a climate that supports equity, inclusion, and diversity.
